Getafe boss Jose Bordalas hit with two game ban

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas will watch his side's next two La Liga games from the stands after he was given a two game touchline ban by the league.

The suspension comes into immediate effect, and he will be absent from the technical area for the home game against Girona this weekend, and the trip to the Camp Nou seven days later.

The 55-year old has been charged with using insulting language towards a match official during their 2-1 defeat at Real Sociedad last weekend, and he was sent to the stands during the second half of that game by referee David Meide Jiminez.

Jiminez, who made a number of controversial decisions at the Anoeta, has since been removed from the officials list for Game Week 36 was criticised again by Bordalas in his post-match interview.

Given La Liga's interpretation that Jiminez's performance was poor, Getafe have confirmed that they will appeal against the ban in the coming days.

Bordalas' side are still edging out Sevilla in the race for the final Champions League spot, with the side from south Madrid ahead on head to head record, with three games to play in 2018-19.
