Napoli in for Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno

Napoli are interested in signing Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno this summer as they seek to reinvent their attack, according to Super Deporte.

The Spain international has struggled a little for form this season – netting 11 goals in all competitions (45 matches) but just five in 30 La Liga appearances.

The 28-year-old joined Los Che in 2014 from Benfica, initially on a loan deal and has gone on to win 15 caps for Spain, scoring four times.

This report also cites a report in Italian outlet Rai Sport which claimed Napoli sporting director Fabio Giuntoli has spoken to Rodrigo’s representative Jorge Mendes over the possibility of a deal.

The Brazil-born striker began his career at Real Madrid and also had a short playing stint at Bolton Wanderers, while Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the player.

It is said that should Valencia fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League then their finances will be hit once more and sales may be necessary to offset the projected losses.
