Real Madrid end interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot

Real Madrid have withdrawn their interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to a report in Diario AS.

Interest from Los Blancos was said to be driven by new boss Zinedine Zidane, with the Frenchman keen on a deal for his compatriot with president Florentino Perez giving the green light to the move.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in the French capital and has not featured for the first-team in over four months with the club refusing to play him until his situation is resolved.

A report in El Mundo Deportivo earlier this month speaking of the move followed on from a report in Canal+ France that Madrid and the player already have a verbal agreement for a move.

Previous reports have claimed Barcelona attempted to sign the midfielder for €40m last summer but talks broke down and now the midfielder is in exile at the Parisian club.

Whilst Rabiot would not cost a transfer fee for his new club, he would require a hefty signing-on fee in the region of €15m alongside a bumper contract, according to a report last month in OK Diario.
