Iago Aspas suffers injury scare ahead of relegation run in

Celta Vigo skipper Iago Aspas could be set for another injury setback ahead of the final three games of the season.

Aspas has had his campaign ravaged by a calf problem, that kept him sidelined for the majority of 2019, however his return to the side has seen an upturn in fortunes for the Galician club.

Prior to the former Liverpool man coming back into the side, Fran Escriba's team were deep inside the relegation zone, but with 12 points from the last available 15, they are in with a real chance of remaining in the top flight.

Aspas has six goals in his last seven appearances, but the Spanish international injured his shoulder in the 0-0 draw at Leganes after colliding with goal keeper Ivan Cuellar.

Escriba confirmed post-game that he will go for a test on the injury tomorrow, and they remain hopeful he will be fit for next weekend's home game against newly crowned champions Barcelona.

Celta are currently three points above the drop zone, but they have played a game more than all three of the sides inside the bottom three.
