Real Betis striker Sergio Leon agrees Levante move

Real Betis striker Sergio Leon has a verbal agreement to join Levante this summer, according to a report in Cadena Ser.

It is claimed that the 30-year-old – who scored 11 La Liga goals in his debut season for Betis but none this time round – has agreed to join the Valencia-based club.

However, this is dependant on the future of Betis boss Quique Setien – who would happily sanction a sale, but the player could be persuaded to stay this summer.

The striker returned to his boyhood club in the summer of 2017 in a €3.5m deal from Osasuna and netted 13 goals for the Seville-based club, who ended up finishing sixth in La Liga that campaign.

Leon had previously been linked with a move to MLS club New York City.
