Mauro Icardi staying at Inter – Wanda Nara

Inter striker Mauro Icardi will remain at the club next season despite links to Real Madrid, his agent and wife Wanda Nara has confirmed.

The 25-year-old is one of Europe’s elite goal scorers and has 16 goals for the campaign despite falling out of favour with the club’s hierarchy amid uncertainty surrounding his future.

The Nerazzurri had taken a tough stance on the Argentine’s unwillingness to sign a new deal – removing him from the first team squad earlier this season – as speculation intensified.

“We will continue here,” Nara told Canale 5, as cited by ESPN.

“We will remain here next year … He is much more serene now.”

Diario AS had linked both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to the Argentine hitman who has a reported €110m release clause in his contract in Milan.

Icardi previously was in the youth ranks of Barcelona when he moved to Italy, where he played for Sampdoria between 2011 and 2013, before joining Inter.
