Barcelona legend Rivaldo believes Neymar ‘made a mistake’ to leave the club to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
Now 46, Rivaldo was speaking of his desire to see his compatriot return to Spanish football and would even prefer to see him at rivals Real Madrid than in the France capital.
Neymar joined the Parisian club in a world record €222m deal in the summer of 2017 and is on course to win his second Ligue 1 title for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
“Neymar made a mistake to leave, he must realise this,” Rivaldo told Onda Cero.
“I would like to see him return to Barcelona and if not to the Camp Nou, for the good of Spanish football I would want to see Real Madrid try to sign him.
“My retirement? Now I can dedicate myself to enjoying my life with my family.”
