Tottenham and Everton both in for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes

Tottenham and Everton are both keen on a deal for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes this summer, according to reports.

The Merseyside club paid a season-long loan fee of €2.5m to land the Portuguese international but do not exercise an option to sign the midfielder permanently.

However, a report in The Daily Telegraph claims Spurs are prepared to pay €35m to land the Portugal international, with chairman Daniel Levy approving the move.

Gomes is not expected to return to the Camp Nou this summer and the North London club are potentially preparing for the possibility of Christian Eriksen moving on.

The report indicates that Everton are unlikely to be able to match the financial demands of Spurs, but with Barca keen on a sale the deal may still be feasible for the Merseyside club.

Gomes joined Barca from Valencia in 2016 in a deal worth up to €55m but failed to settle at the Catalan giants.
