AS: Mauro Icardi ‘waiting’ for Real Madrid

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is waiting to make a summer move to Real Madrid, according to reports in Diario AS this weekend.

The Argentinian international has been the subject of interest from sides across Europe, and he is reported to have turned down a contract extension at the San Siro – with his current deal expiring in 2021.

Juventus and Napoli are both keen to keep him in Italy, with Premier League side Manchester United also interested in the former Sampdoria man.

Inter have taken a tough stance on Icardi's unwillingness to sign a new deal – removing him from the first team squad earlier this season – and he could be available for a fee of €60m.

Zinedine Zidane's side are reported to be keen on the 26 year-old – although there are other names ahead of him in the transfer pecking order – but he would represent a cheaper option than Kylian Mbappe and Luka Jovic.
