Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims Barcelona star Lionel Messi is ‘not impossible’ to stop while Chris Smalling ‘is relishing the challenge’.
Messi has netted 595 goals in 677 appearances for the Blaugrana across 14 years while he has found the net an incredible 43 goals in just 40 appearances this season.
“Facing him is a challenge I am relishing, so bring it on,” United defender Smalling told reporters at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
“He will be difficult to stop, but it's never impossible,” added Solskjaer. “We can't just focus on one player because there are 11 of them.
“Messi will without doubt be remembered as one of football’s greatest ever players.”
