Huesca coach Jaime Ramos believes his team matched Real Madrid in their Sunday night encounter and is confident his side can avoid relegation.
Karim Benzema’s late winner gave Los Blancos an unconvincing victory against the league’s bottom side on Sunday evening, leaving the Aragonese side seven points from safety.
“It is a really disappointing result for us because we equalled Real Madrid,” Ramos – who is a senior coach in Francisco’s management team – told reporters, as cited by Diario AS.
“It is a bitter result for us because again our performance has not been rewarded in terms of a result, but we believe this situation will be reversed soon.
“Cuco Hernandez was fantastic and showed a great attitude, strikers live to score goals and when you have a player like that it gives you a chance.
“Huesca are still alive in La Liga.”
