Valverde rules out wholesale changes for season run in

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has ruled out any major squad rotations as his squad prepares for a crunch run of games in the coming weeks.

The former Athletic Bilbao boss praised his side as they maintained their ten point lead at the top of the La Liga table, with a 2-0 derby win over Espanyol and he confirmed that he will only look to make small changes to his side.

"We have ten days between now and our Champions League game (at Manchester United).

"It is not a case of wrapping the players up and protecting them.

"We need to keep competing at our consistent level.

"I may make some small changes to be need to be at full capacity against Villarreal and Atletico Madrid."

La Blaugrana face eight games in April across domestic and European competition, however they if they can collect maximum points from their La Liga games they will retain their title before May.
