Atletico Madrid to demand €150m for Saul Niguez

Atletico Madrid will not budge on their €150m asking price for Spanish international Saul Niguez this summer.

The midfielder has been rumoured to be on Pep Guardiola's list of targets for Manchester City, however the former Barcelona boss is believed to be reluctant to meeting his €150m release clause.

The 24 year-old signed an eight year contract before the start of the 2018-19 season, following interest from La Liga rivals Barcelona, with the clause inserted into the new deal.

However the Premier League side are not willing to go over €100m for him, and Ateltico are in no rush to sell having already offloaded Lucas Hernandez to Bayern Munich earlier this week.

Diego Simeone wants to keep Niguez at the Wanda Metropolitano, with the Argentine viewing him as a potential future captain of the side when Diego Godin departs.

Ernesto Valverde's side could come back in for Niguez this summer, to challenge City, but they are only willing to pay €110m.
