Barcelona legend Rivaldo has criticised the over spending in the transfer market in recent seasons, stating that no player is worth of €280m, no matter who they are.
The former Brazilian international was speaking in reference to Real Madrid's rumoured bid for Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe this summer, and the 46 year-old has spoken out over inflated fees.
"In my opinion, paying over €280m for a player is too much.
"Not even Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar are worth that money."
If Real Madrid do not make a move for the French international, they are widely tipped to make a bid for Chelsea's Eden Hazard, who Rivaldo believes would be an ideal fit.
"Hazard would be a perfect signing for Real Madrid, for his talents and his leadership."
