Spanish FA imposes limit on La Liga kick-off times

The Spanish FA has imposed restricted kick-off times for La Liga matches between late May and mid-September based on health grounds.

From now on, no matches can commence before 7.30pm local time between May 20 to September 15 – ruling out lunchtime and afternoon matches.

The Spanish FA have said this arrangement has been approved by all levels of their organisation following a consultation process that had begun last year.

There have been a series of long-running dispute between the Spanish FA, led by Luis Rubiales and La Liga chief Javier Tebas (pictured), including kick-off times.

The league had previously had total control over scheduling of matches but now the Spanish FA has intervened, potentially restricting revenue streams through televised matches.
