Inter return with offer for Barcelona forward Malcom

Inter want to sign out-of-favour Barcelona forward Malcom this summer and are considering a loan with an obligation to buy, say reports.

Corriere dello Sport say the Nerazzurri have been in touch with the Brazilian player’s agent and have improved on their latest offer, meaning they are committed to a permanent deal.

When asked about the speculation, representative Leonardo Cornacini told Calciomercato.it: “We respect Inter and their sporting director very much.

“However, I repeat: right now there’s nothing. Malcolm is certainly an interesting player for any European club, but he has a long contract, until June 2023, with the Blaugrana.

“He’s adapting well and we’re convinced that next season, he’ll do much better than this one.”

The former Corinthians player scored the equaliser for the Blaugrana against Real Madrid in the first leg of February’s Copa del Rey semi-final, but has found first-team opportunities limited outside of that competition.

The 21-year-old has also been linked with a move to a Chinese club and while Barca have no intention of selling him, the lack of first-team football could see a move come to fruition.

Malcom has started just one La Liga game since a €41m summer switch from Bordeaux.
