Sergio Ramos: Spain dedicate victory to Luis Enrique

Spain captain Sergio Ramos has dedicated his side’s 2-0 victory in Malta on Tuesday night to Coach Luis Enrique, who was absent with personal issues.

A double from Alvaro Morata gave La Roja victory in their European Championships qualification match, following on from Saturday’s win over Norway.

“We were perfectly prepared for this game despite the Coach’s absence,” Ramos told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“We have all felt for Luis of course because he has a personal issue and we want to support him during this period.

“We dedicate this victory to him and to his family, we are a family here and if someone has a personal problem then we support them.

“The Spain appearance record? Iker (Casillas) is a living legend and if I can overtake his record then that would be an incredible achievement.”
