Former Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco wants European return

Former Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco, currently at Chinese club Dalian Yifang, wants to return to European football.

The 25-year-old, who moved to the Chinese Super League a year ago, has confirmed he wants to return to European football to advance his career.

Calciomercato have reported that there is set to be a Milanese derby for his signature, with both Milan and Inter interested in the Belgium international.

“My idea is to return to Europe,” Carrasco told Het Laatste Nieuws, as cited by the Italian outlet.

“There were clubs interested in signing me in January, but my current club wanted to keep me but I am hopeful of a future return.”

In January, Sky Italia claimed Italian giants Milan alongside English duo Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in a deal for the China-based player.

Carrasco joined Atleti from Monaco in the summer of 2015 and netted 23 goals in 124 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side, including in the 2016 Champions League final.
