Luis Enrique hails ‘unique’ Sergio Ramos

Spain manager Luis Enrique has hailed the influence of Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos, following their 2-1 win over Norway on Saturday night in Valencia.

The experienced defender, who now wears the armband for club and country, scored the winner from the penalty spot – his fifth consecutive goal for the national side, and Enrique was full of praise for the 32 year-old.

"Sergio Ramos did very well for us again today.

"He is a unique player in history."

Ramos scored yet another panenka penalty to bring his total up to 16 goals for the 2018-19 season, the highest number he has scored in one campaign during his long career.

Enrique's side secured an opening win in the European Championships qualification campaign, with Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno opening the scoring, with Premier League striker Josh King converting the equaliser from the spot, before Ramos' late intervention.
