Real Betis to sign Giovani Lo Celso in €22m deal from PSG

Real Betis have met with Paris Saint-Germain to move closer to a permanent €22m transfer of midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, report ABC.

The Argentine midfielder is currently on a season-long loan deal at Los Verdiblancos from PSG and there is an option for Betis to complete his signing permanently.

The talented 22-year-old has netted 12 goals this campaign for Betis and is reportedly keen to make his move permanent, despite interest from Real Madrid.

“This is not the first time I have said this, but I am very happy and I am enjoying my football,” Lo Celso said, in quotes carried by Marca, late last year.

“Betis are the right club for me, I still have a lot to learn and I plan to do that here.”

Lo Celso joined PSG from Argentine club Rosario Central in 2016.

The meeting is also said to have been the grounds for Betis hoping to make their loan move of PSG forward Jese Rodriguez permanent.
