Barcelona defender Gerard Pique insists there is no talk of a treble in the club’s dressing room despite their strong recent form.
Sunday night’s 4-1 win at Real Betis moved them 10 points clear at the top of La Liga while they are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the final of the Copa del Rey.
“We know there is a still a long way to go in every competition,” Pique explained to reporters, as cited by Marca.
“We have to take things one match a time and not get carried away, despite a lot of people now becoming very excited.
“We are in a very strong position in La Liga and we are through to the Copa del Rey final but we know how difficult the Champions League is at the quarter-final stage.
“Tonight was an important victory for us and it is a continuation of our strong form, but we will not look beyond the next match.
“Lionel Messi? He is very special but he has been doing this for 14 years, nobody can compare to him in the history of football.”
