Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar gets France call up

Atletico Madrid forward Thomas Lemar has been called up to the French national side by manager Didier Deschamps.

The 23 year-old was not included in Les Bleu's original squad to face Moldova and Iceland in their forthcoming EURO 2020 qualification games, however Deschamps has turned to him after Manchester United's Anthony Martial withdrew with an injury.

Lemar, has 13 caps for France, and was included in their World Cup winning squad in 2018 and he has enjoyed better form with his national side than with Diego Simeone's side, so far in 2018-19.

He will be joined in the squad by club team mates Antoine Griezmann, who is line to make his 68th international appearance for France.

However fellow French international Lucas Hernandez will remain in the Spanish capital, as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.
