Sevilla have confirmed that Monchi will be returning to the club as a sporting director.
After two years at Serie A side Roma, the popular former goal keeper will return to the role he held at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for 16 years, before his departure to Italy in 2016.
However the 50 year-old will now return to La Liga, after the news was confirmed by the club his weekend, after departing from his role with AS Roma earlier this month.
He will begin his work in Andalusia from April 1st, although he club have not confirmed the details of his contract at this stage.
Under his tenure as Sporting Director between 2000 and 2016, Sevilla won five Europa League titles, two Copa del Rey's, one Spanish Super Cup and one European Super Cup.
