Keylor Navas: My training critics were wrong

Real Madrid goal keeper has slammed critics, after Zinedine Zidane returned the Costa Rica international to the starting line up on his return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Navas, 32, was ever present during Zidane's first spell in charge at the club, however Belgian international Thibaut Courtois has been preferred in goal by previous bosses Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari this season.

Navas has been mainly restricted to Copa del Rey and Champions League games in 2018-19, and there have been reports that he was seeking an exit from the club.

However the former Levante goal keeper dismissed any suggestions about his commitment to the cause.

"Those who said I was not committed and not training properly must admit they were wrong.

"They either don't know me, or they have never seen a training session at Valdebebas.

"I work hard every week to be in the coach's plans, and today (against Celta) I played.

"I have not played for a long time, but I have always said that I am happy here at Real Madrid."
