Raul de Tomas considered for Spain call-up

Rayo Vallecano striker Raul de Tomas, currently on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid, is reportedly being considered for a Spain international call-up.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for struggling Rayo this season, hitting 11 La Liga goals in 23 starts, having scored 24 times last season in the second tier.

Marca say La Roja boss Luis Enrique is considering the sriker for the upcoming games against Norway and Malta to replace the injured Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas.

It has been 19 years since the last time a Rayo player was called up to senior duty with the Spain team – Luis Cembranos in 2000.
