Paris Saint-Germain pursue Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak

Paris Saint-Germain ‘have not thrown in the towel’ in their hopes of signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, report Marca.

Los Rojiblancos had been hoping the Slovenian shot-stopper is set to extend his current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano – which runs through until June 2021 – by a further year.

Oblak has been a regular in Diego Simeone's starting line-up across the past four seasons and his renewal has long been seen as a priority.

However, the Parisian club have long been linked to the goalkeeper and their exit from the Champions League this week is said to have sharpened their focus.

Gianluigi Buffon may leave the club this summer and Oblak, who is said to want a wage increase, appears to be a candidate for his replacement.

The Slovenian international has developed into one of the world’s elite goalkeepers in Madrid since his €16m transfer from Benfica in 2014.
