English Premier League duo Liverpool and Chelsea have both been linked with a move for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez, say reports.
The Uruguayan striker netted 17 goals in La Liga last season in his first campaign in European football, leading to a series of top European clubs monitoring his progress.
The Uruguayan striker is said to have a release clause of €50m at Balaidos with reports across Spain saying that West Ham United have attempted to sign him in each of the past two transfer windows.
However, The Sun now say that both Liverpool and Chelsea are keen on a deal for the target man and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez – Gomez’s international teammate – has reportedly put in a good word for the Merseyside club.
Gomez has hit 26 La Liga goals in 56 starts since joining from Defensor Sporting in 2017.
