La Liga side Celta Vigo have confirmed that former Villarreal manager Fran Escriba will replace head coach Miguel Cardoso until the end of the season.
Cardoso was rumoured to be nearing an exit from the club, after a 1-0 defeat away to Eibar on Sunday, made it just three wins under his tenure since November 2018.
The club confirmed his departure on their social media accounts on Sunday, with Escriba coming in on a short term deal.
The Galician side are currently in 17th in the La Liga table, just one point above the relegation zone, and Escriba's former side Villarreal.
His first game in charge of the relegation threatened side will be at home to Real Betis on March 10th, with 12 league games remaining to save their top flight status.
