Highly-rated United States Under-20 international Richard Ledezma rejected a move to Barcelona to join PSV Eindhoven, his father has explained.
The 18-year-old was strongly linked with a move to the Blaugrana but he joined the Dutch giants in December from Real Monarchs.
“Barcelona held an interest and there was a firm offer,” Jorge Ledezma explained to Marca Claro.
“Richard was very excited about a proposal that I was told directly by a leading scout, but in the end we decided against the move.
“The best place for Richard’s development was at PSV, where we believe he will enjoy greater opportunities.”
