Barcelona want Philippe Coutinho to stay at the club long-term but do not know where he fits in the team, according to a report in ESPN FC.
Coutinho joined Barca from Liverpool in a €160m deal only a year ago but has fallen out of favour at the Camp Nou this season, regularly missing out on starting line-ups.
Due to rotations, the Brazilian has started in each of the last three matches but has not completed the 90 minutes in any of those games.
The Blaugrana have repeatedly denied that they will sell the Brazilian star and ESPN have verified this information, believing there is no intention of a deal.
However, there are still concerns over where the former Inter playmaker fits into Barca’s starting XI, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele firmly first choice attacking options when fit.
