Athletic Club Bilbao will return for former striker Fernando Llorente when his contract at Tottenham expires this summer, say reports.
ESPN FC cite a report in Diario AS that the Basque club’s sporting director Rafa Alkorta is keen on a deal to bring the experienced striker back to the San Mames this summer.
The 33-year-old netted 118 goals between 2004 and 2012 at Athletic but until a recent injury to Harry Kane, he struggled for game time at Spurs – playing just 27 minutes across the first 20 Premier League matches this season.
Llorente – who has started seven of the North London club’s last nine games – will be out-of-contract in the summer, so he is free to negotiate a free transfer to any rival club.
