Jordi Alba does not believe Barcelona should dwell on their performance at Girona and insisted the victory was ‘all that matters’.
The Blaugrana edged out their Catalan neighbours 2-0 at Estadi Montilivi on Sunday to maintain their five-point lead over Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
“Girona make it tough for any side, all teams will have spells of suffering here,” Alba told BeIn Sports, as cited by Marca.
“They knocked Atletico Madrid out of the Copa del Rey, they are enjoying a fantastic season and lose very few games, they are one of the best teams in Spain.
“They maybe caused us more issues when they were reduced to 10 men, but it does not matter about our own performance because at least we won and that’s all that matters.
“It is a very difficult stadium to win at and this was an important victory for us.”
