Espanyol are looking to complete a deal for Shanghai SIPG forward and China international Wu Lei, according to a report in Marca.
The Catalan club’s owner Chen Yansheng has reportedly had a strong desire to bring a Chinese player to the RCDE Stadium and negotiations are currently ongoing.
The 27-year-old is prolific in the Chinese Super League, netting a devastating 102 goals in 172 appearances in the division.
The China international may provide competition for in-form Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias and the club are still said to be in the market for a defender and a midfielder.
