Barcelona are monitoring the progress of Sao Paulo winger Helinho, according to the Catalan club’s former defender Edmilson.
The 18-year-old has only made six first-team appearances for the Brazilian giants but he is among the most highly-rated players in the country.
“Barca always have an eye on Brazil, there's a boy they're watching, who is Helinho, from São Paulo, he's an interesting player and he has the profile they like,” Edmilson told ESPN.com.br.
“Barca have a representative in Brazil in this industry that is Andre Cury and he is here monitoring him.”
The right-winger has also represented his nation’s Under-17 side and currently has a contract at Sao Paulo in 2023.
Barca’s rivals Real Madrid have recently made big investments in Brazil following the deals of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.
