Done deal: Takashi Inui joins Alaves on loan from Real Betis

Alaves have completed the loan signing of Real Betis midfielder Takashi Inui until the end of the current season, it has been confirmed.

The Basque club are looking for an inventive right-sided midfielder to replace Ibai Gomez, who left the club earlier this month to sign for Athletic Bilbao.

Inui is currently participating in the Asia Cup with the Japanese national team but a deal has now been finalised until the end of the campaign.

There will be no purchase to buy the midfielder included in any deal, according to the report, and stems from the 30-year-old’s lack of prominence in the Betis first-team.

After three impressive seasons with Eibar and a strong showing at last summer’s World Cup, the midfielder’s stock was high when joining the Andalusian club on a free transfer but he has only made 14 appearances across all competitions this season.

Alaves are said to be looking to ‘increase the internationalisation’ of their brand and recently formalised a link-up with Japanese club Kagoshima United.
