Barcelona have told Denis Suarez they will not select him for matches unless he signs a new contract or leaves for Sevilla or Real Betis, say Cadena Ser.
Various reports have linked the 25-year-old with a January transfer to Arsenal and he has only played 17 minutes of La Liga action this season and is mainly deployed in the Copa del Rey.
Despite the player’s preference for joining the Gunners, there is interest in him from both Seville-based clubs and Barca rather he moved to either club rather than England.
The midfielder, formerly of Sevilla – where he played under Arsenal boss Unai Emery – and Villarreal, joined the club from Manchester City in 2013 and has just 18 months left of his contract at the Camp Nou.
The report claims Sevilla and Betis are both willing to match the €20m asking price for Denis while the North London side would prefer a temporary arrangement without a commitment to buy.
