OFFICIAL: Barcelona sign Kevin-Prince Boateng on loan from Sassuolo

Barcelona have completed the signing of Sassuolo forward Kevin-Prince Boateng on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old joined the Italian side from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer and has scored five goals in 15 appearances for the club.

Media report say the cost of the loan fee stands at €1m while the Blaugrana also have an €8m option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Barca are in need of attacking reinforcements following Munir El Haddadi’s departure to Sevilla earlier this month and have been linked to a number of strikers including Alvaro Morata, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Vela.

However, the surprise news that it was the Ghanaian international who they had turned to in order to bolster their forward options developed swiftly on Monday before later confirmation.

Boateng spent the 2016/17 campaign in La Liga, netting 10 goals in 25 starts for Las Palmas.
