Leeds United to sign Real Madrid’s Kiko Casilla

Leeds United are set to complete the signing of Real Madrid’s out-of-favour goalkeeper Francisco ‘Kiko’ Casilla, say multiple reports.

The 32-year-old has made just 43 first-team appearances for Los Blancos since joining from Espanyol in the summer of 2015 and has not featured this season.

Casilla, who was capped once by Spain at international level in 2014, has fallen behind summer signing Thibaut Courtois and Keylor Navas in the pecking order.

The experienced shot-stopper is expected to provide a challenge to the Yorkshire side’s current number one goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Courtois’ current pelvic injury is not expected to delay a move while it also ensures Navas is likely to remain at the Bernabeu for the foreseeable future.
