Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno ‘very sorry’ for penalty miss

Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno has apologised for missing a penalty in his side’s draw with Real Valladolid: “We are all responsible for not scoring more.”

Valladolid goalkeeper Jordi Masip stopped Rodrigo’s second-half penalty and while captain Dani Parejo gave Los Che the lead, Ruben Alcaraz's free-kick earned the visitors a draw.

“We played really well but just could not score a goal,” Rodrigo admitted to reporters after the game, as cited by Marca.

“I want to take this opportunity to apologise to my teammates and to our fans for missing the penalty, it was a critical moment in the game and I am very sorry.

“We created a lot more opportunities and we are all responsible for not scoring more.”
