Manchester United’s Juan Mata ‘not thinking’ of Spain return

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata insists he is ‘not thinking’ about a return to Spanish football and is happy in England.

The playmaker initially moved to English football in 2011, joining Chelsea from Valencia, before a £37m transfer to Manchester United in January 2014.

“I’ve been in England for a long time and I feel very comfortable there,” Mata told an interview with Diario AS.

“I have adapted very well to the league and to the culture, but it’s natural that you miss your home, your family and friends.

“But honestly I do not know if I will return to Spain in the near future, it is not something I have given a lot of thought to.

“I am at Manchester United, one of the most important clubs in world football, that is all I am thinkin about.”
