Real Betis go for Mexican teenager Diego Lainez

Real Betis will rival Ajax for the signature of Club America attacker and Mexico international Diego Lainez, report Marca.

The 18-year-old is described as a versatile attacking midfielder who is most comfortable playing on the left-side of an attack.

Despite his age, Lainez has already wracked up 50 first-team appearances for his club side having debuted aged just 16.

The player made his international debut with Mexico in September 2018 and had been linked with a move to Dutch giants Ajax.

However, Los Verdiblancos are also interested in a potential move with the national team captain Andres Guardado said to be key in any potential negotiation process.
