Sevilla ‘want to sign Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata, but…’

Sevilla Director of Football Joaquin Caparros has confirmed the club want to land Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata ‘but a deal is very complicated’.

A report in Diario AS claimed the player’s agent Juanma Lopez arrived in the Andalusian capital on Monday in attempt to accelerate the Spain international’s move to Los Rojiblancos.

Morata joined the Blues from Real Madrid in a €65m deal last summer but has struggled for form for the majority of his time in the English capital.

“We are interested in Morata, but it is a very complicated operation due to his cost,” Caparros told Sevilla club media on Tuesday.

“The player wants to come here over other options, but the negotiation with Chelsea will be very complicated.”

AS say the deal would most likely be a loan arrangement until the end of the season without an obligation to buy, although Chelsea are trying to source a replacement before sanctioning any move.
