Exequiel Palacios’ agent says negotiations are at an ‘advanced’ stage to take the River Plate midfielder to Real Madrid.
A deal has long been in the pipeline and Renato Corsi suggested Madrid’s willingness to let Palacios see the season out with River was key.
“River’s leaders met Real Madrid’s in Abu Dhabi,” he told Radio Rivadavia.
“In the next few days, a formal offer will be presented. The deal is at quite an advanced stage.
“Exequiel, his family and I want him to leave in June. Real Madrid have no problem with him staying at River for now.
“Everything was delayed a bit with the twists and turns of the Copa Libertadores Final.
“Certainly if the Final had been played like it was supposed to, then the deal would’ve gone through sooner.”
