Jese Rodriguez given Paris Saint-Germain lifeline?

Jese Rodriguez will reportedly be given the chance to rescue his Paris Saint-Germain career in the French Cup on Sunday.

According to AS, Jese has lost 7kg since hiring a personal trainer to improve his physique, with the intention of being reintegrated into PSG’s squad.

The newspaper explains Coach Thomas Tuchel assessed the former Spain Under-21 winger and was impressed by his ‘effort and dedication’ in training.

Consequently, he could be given minutes in the French giants’ French Cup tie against lower-League Pontivy this weekend, especially as the club’s South American players are still on holiday.

Jese was Unai Emery’s first signing at PSG in the summer of 2016, arriving from Real Madrid in a €25m deal.

However, he has played just 14 times in three seasons at Parc des Princes, sandwiched by unsuccessful loan spells at Las Palmas and Stoke City.

The 25-year-old has since been linked with Real Valladolid and been in the news for reportedly paying €5,000 to eliminate a former girlfriend from a reality show.
