Barcelona ‘in pole position’ for Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo

Barcelona ‘are in pole position’ to sign the in-demand Toulose defender Jean-Clair Todibo, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed Juventus, who also hold a strong interest in the player, ‘believe they are losing the battle’ for the player.

Various reports in the Spanish press have reported Barca’s interest in the 19-year-old while Marca have also stated that Real Madrid are in the mix for his signature.

El Mundo Deportivo say Barca ‘are in total control’ of the player’s situation and are confident they can land Todibo – who is out of contract in June – this year, and have ‘intensified their approach’.

Having started his career as a midfielder, Todibo has made 10 starts for his club in Ligue 1 this season in the heart of defence and will be a free agent in June.

Marca quote the player’s agent Bruno Satin as saying: “He wants to prove himself at the highest level, I am sure he will be at a big club soon.”
