Real Valladolid confirm interest in PSG’s Jese Rodriguez

Real Valladolid have confirmed their interest in former Real Madrid and Las Palmas forward Jese Rodriguez, currently at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 25-year-old – who spent last season on loan at Stoke City but scored just once in 13 appearances – is reportedly closing on a return to Spain.

Valladolid sporting director Miguel Angel Gomez has confirmed the club will move for the forward if their pursuit of Sergi Guardiola – currently on loan at Getafe from Cordoba – does not go through.

“We want Sergi Guardiola to come but if he does not, then we will restart our move for Jese Rodriguez, he was a priority for us in the summer,” Gomez told Diario AS.

Real Betis are said to have turned down the opportunity to sign the forward who has not featured in any matchday squad for the Parisians this season.

Jese scored three goals in 16 appearances for his hometown club Los Amarillos in a loan stint in the second half of 2016/17 after netting just twice in 14 appearances in Paris.

The former Spain Under-21 international made a total of 94 first-team appearances for Real Madrid and previously had been linked with a loan move to Huesca.
