Valencia to move for West Ham striker Javier Hernandez

Valencia will attempt to sign West Ham striker Javier Hernandez in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

Diario AS cite a report in Levante-EMV that Los Che boss Marcelino Garcia Toral has given the green light for the deal while the player himself is keen on a move to the Mestalla.

Super Deporte have run a similar story citing the club’s interest, while stating Michy Batshuayi – currently on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea – may depart.

Mexico's all-time leading scorer is said to want regular first-team football and is keen for a move to La Liga due to lack of game time at the East London club.

Hernandez spent the 2014/15 campaign on loan at Real Madrid, where he netted seven goals in seven league starts and has played in Germany and England since.

In an interview with Marca last month, the strike ‘did not rule out’ a departure from the Hammers: “My only desire is to play as much as possible and earn a starting place.”
