Real Madrid’s Santiago Solari takes shot at Jose Mourinho?

Santiago Solari appeared to join Sergio Ramos in taking a shot at Jose Mourinho, highlighting Real Madrid’s successes ‘in the last five years’.

Ramos hit out at how the Press were still talking about Mourinho ‘five years later’, and Solari preferred to focus on Madrid’s achievements since the Portuguese left in 2013 as opposed to their run of three consecutive Champions Leagues under Zinedine Zidane.

“Al Ain will play like they have done, taking advantage of the ability of their forwards, with defensive solidity and dangerous set-pieces,” said the Coach at a Press conference for Saturday’s Club World Cup Final against Al Ain.

“They’ll try to obstruct our goalkeeper like they did against River Plate, but we hope they don’t get away with it.

“It would be exceptional to win a third consecutive Club World Cup and a great achievement.

“It’ll complicated to repeat and it’s a huge responsibility for us. It’s impossible to win the Champions for the next 200 years because this is football.

“However, I think it’s difficult to give the right value to what Madrid have achieved in the last five years.

“It’s in the club’s tradition to look forward, but we can’t forget the excellence of this past year.

“It’s extraordinary and we’ll try to go one step further on Saturday. If Madrid have won so much, it’s because they focus and put all their energy into Finals.

“What concerns me is that we’re involved on all fronts. That’s what matters most to me.”
