James Rodriguez ‘happy’ to stay at Bayern Munich

Playmaker James Rodriguez has hinted he would like to stay at Bayern Munich beyond his two-year loan from Real Madrid.

The creative midfielder joined Bayern in the summer of 2017 on a two-year loan deal from Madrid but reports suggested he had fallen out of favour under new boss Niko Kovac, something he denies.

Bayern also possess a €35m option to buy the playmaker at the end of his current spell but there have been various reports that this will not be exercised and the player will return to Los Blancos.

“There are no issues with the coach or any staff,” James told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“At the moment I am with Bayern and I have a contract with the club until June and I am happy here, I am calm and in the future we will see what happens.

“I am only thinking about Bayern, I am recovering well from my injury and I have lots of motivation to return better than ever.”
