Sevilla look to Roma defender Ivan Marcano

Sevilla are looking to Roma defender Ivan Marcano this January as they look to bolster their squad for the second half of the campaign, say reports.

Sky Sport Italia say the Spaniard, who joined Roma on a free transfer this summer, wants to move to a club where he will earn more first-team minutes.

The 31-year-old moved to the Giallorossi from FC Porto – where he was a first-team regular for four campaigns – but he has featured in just five games this season.

This report was denied by the player’s agent Inaki Ibanez, who told TeleRadioStereo: “He is a Roma player on a three-year contract with option for a fourth.

“I have not been approached by any other club. Marcano wants to play for Roma, so the only thing he needs to think about is the next match.”

Marcano has previously played in Spain for Racing Santander, Villarreal and Getafe, while he has also played for Olympiakos and Rubin Kazan.
